Would you like to get a jump on your Christmas book sales by utilizing the power of #cybermonday? While cyber Monday may be typically big business you can get your piece of the spotlight by utilizing their sales outlets during this time frame. Since Cyber Monday is built around the concept of social media and web based sales it is the perfect time to showcase your books on your social media outlets.

Here are some tips for making your posts for Cyber Monday more visual this year:

#1. Make them stand out with a good, correctly sized twitter graphic. Use Canva.com to build a Twitter post sized graphic about your book. There are MANY layouts both free and for $1 that you can utilize or you can start from scratch. Here is a sample graphics we have sized up and designed for that reason. (These are great year round and if you don’t make them all #cybermonday branded they can be reused). Please  note when using Canva that Twitter post sized images will show properly on Twitter AND Facebook making them the best sizing option. Facebook post size don’t show well in Twitter.

#2. Use the industry related hashtags and the broad ones. Choose one specific to your industry like the ones below and use one for #cybermonday. (Don’t leave that one out as it is the general hashtag keeping you in the mix). Don’t use more than 2 hashtags during the posts.

Industry specific hashtags suggestions (there are many more than just this):

#Christfic  (Christian Fiction)

#Devo (Devotionals)

#Suspense

#womensfic

#Christianfiction

#romance

#BYNR (Be Your Next Read)

#ASMSG (Author Social Media Support Group)

#ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers)

#YA

#CleanReads

#Histfic (Historical fiction)

#3. Don’t forget to shorten your links but include them! People are even less likely to spend the time to search for something when there is this many deals to be had on Cyber Monday. So be short, be specific and include everything they need. If you need to put information put it in the graphic instead of the post that way that people can read the whole thing and you aren’t limited!

#4. There will be lots of noise tomorrow so you will need to post more often than usual. Post 5-10 times on Twitter and 2 or 3 times on Facebook for your book. This will increase the chance of your post being seen. Don’t forget there are 100’s of Facebook groups for book promotion. Posting your posts there are a good idea for Cyber Monday but only post them one time in the groups so you don’t end up banned from the group or annoying people. Make sure if you are using groups you don’t post when they don’t allow posting. For example Avid Readers of Christian Fiction is a great and highly interactive Facebook group however they don’t allow promotion during the week only on weekend. Posting to their group during the week could get you banned and the post deleted.

If you utilize programs like Ask David schedule a post every 3 hours during the day for Cyber Monday to help spread the message outside of just your team as well.

Good luck and have blessed sales!
